A beautifully characterful 1930s Art Deco oak sideboard, sympathetically restored to preserve its original warmth, grain and period detail.
 
Crafted in richly figured oak, the piece features a striking quarter-sawn oak top, sculptural geometric detailing, carved decorative panels and distinctive turned feet. The timber has been carefully cleaned, lightly restored and finished to enhance its natural colour and character rather than being heavily refinished.
 
The sideboard offers a wonderfully practical original storage layout. To the left is a shelved cupboard, while the central section includes a useful bank of internal drawers. To the right is a distinctive pull-down bottle-storage compartment, a particularly charming period feature that makes the piece ideal for use as a drinks cabinet as well as a traditional dining or living room sideboard.
 
The oak has a beautiful depth of colour and variation throughout, with the quarter-sawn grain especially striking across the top and central detailing. Original carved features and architectural lines give the piece a strong Art Deco presence without feeling overly ornate.
 
As expected with a piece of this age, there are small signs of use and patina, which form part of its authentic vintage character.
 
A substantial and highly decorative piece that would work beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
