Meet ‘Archie’, I hope you’ll agree he is an impressive piece of furniture with a unique presence. This oak sideboard was originally constructed by Ray & Miles cabinet manufacturers of Liverpool. They had a shop in London Road, just past where the Odeon used to be.

Archie has had a classy new look with layers of excellent chalk paint. Four Dixie Belle colours all coming together to create a unique custom finish.

The top had two 0.3mm deep scratches that for me were not an option to just refinish as I would have felt this would have really let him down. Sanding them out was not an option for me and following lots of research and some intricate and careful restoration, these are no longer visible and the results gave me immense satisfaction. The top has now been refinished to show off his magnificent grain in Espresso stain and finished in a durable hard wax oil.

Along with his good looks, Archie has two spacious drawers, and are in excellent condition showing off his oak construction. There are two spacious cupboards behind the beautifully carved doors, each with a single shelf. The interiors have also been painted to complement his exterior and the panels on the internal doors have been decoupaged to match the internal colour.

The hardware is all original and has been given a sympathetic refinish in copper. New neodymium magnets keep the cupboard doors perfectly closed to.

The sideboard is in excellent condition and will make an attractive focal point in your home.
