It was an honour to have taken this sentimentel table that was gifted to a lovely couple for their wedding gift just over 50 years ago. Sadly her husband had passed away some years ago but she wanted the table refinishing.
 
I lovingly stripped the table top with its 'pie crust edge' as it is known as! I used an Eco friendly stripper that is water based with no nasty chemicals to remove the aged top and prior to beginning the sanding process, going from a rough grit all the way down to a fine grit sandpaper. 
 
I chose a warm 'Golden Oak' for the stain before applying several layers of a satin top coat. I hope you will agree that the finish was fabulous and I couldn't wait to deliver the table back to the lovely lady.
 
This commission gave me so much satisfaction and seeing her delighted reaction was the best feeling!
