A beautiful late Victorian/Edwardian dressing table, dating to approximately 1900–1915, thoughtfully restored and reimagined to celebrate its original craftsmanship while bringing a lighter, timeless feel to the piece.
The real stars are the spectacular burr walnut drawer fronts. Rather than covering this beautiful timber, they have been carefully cleaned and sympathetically restored, revealing the wonderful swirling grain, warmth and depth that has developed over more than a century.
The surrounding frame, top, elegant turned legs and original adjustable mirror have been hand-painted in Heritage Setting Stone – a beautifully understated, warm mousy brown with a subtle whisper of green. Its soft, natural character provides the perfect backdrop for the richness of the walnut (see last photo for actual colour).
Original details have been retained, including the decorative drop handles and castors, while the raised mirror incorporates two charming smaller drawers – perfect for jewellery, perfume and treasured keepsakes.
The result is a unique piece that brings together period craftsmanship and contemporary interiors without disguising what made the original furniture special.
With four generous drawers, additional jewellery drawers and a substantial dressing surface, it's beautiful but also wonderfully practical for everyday use.
