A beautifully restored Ercol plank dining table, crafted from solid English elm with beech legs. This iconic mid-century design celebrates the beauty of natural materials and the exceptional craftsmanship Ercol is renowned for.
The tabletop has been carefully stripped back by hand to reveal the rich character and stunning grain of the elm before being protected with a durable matt hardwax oil, creating a smooth, practical finish for everyday use. The solid beech legs have been professionally refinished in a soft contemporary paint colour, giving the table a fresh, updated look while remaining sympathetic to its original design.
Following restoration, a separation developed between two of the elm planks on the tabletop. The table remains fully functional, sturdy and ready to use, however a future owner may wish to undertake a more extensive restoration to close the joint completely. This has been reflected in the asking price.
Rather than disguising its history, I'd prefer to be completely honest about its condition and offer it to someone who appreciates genuine Ercol furniture and its potential.
Perfect for a kitchen, dining room or character home, this is a beautiful piece that still has many years of life ahead of it.
