A beautiful blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary country-house charm.
This charming vintage oak sideboard has been lovingly restored and reimagined by Flippin’ Sixpence, giving a beautifully crafted piece of furniture a fresh new look while preserving its original character.
The body has been professionally hand-painted in Dixie Belle Hampton Olive, a sophisticated, muted grey-green with earthy undertones. This timeless colour pairs beautifully with the natural oak, creating a warm, elegant finish that would complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The original oak top has been carefully stripped back to reveal its beautiful natural grain and warm golden tones. It has then been treated with several coats of premium Osmo hardwax oil, enhancing the natural beauty of the timber while providing a durable, protective finish.
The sideboard retains its original ornate metal handles, decorative hinges and traditional panelled doors, all of which add to its character and charm. The subtle pitting and distressed detailing are part of the furniture's original design and have been intentionally preserved.
Beautifully Practical
Behind the three cupboard doors, you'll find generous storage space with internal shelving, ideal for crockery, glassware, table linens or everyday essentials.
Two spacious drawers provide additional storage, making this a wonderfully practical piece for the home.
The original natural timber interiors have been retained, creating a lovely contrast with the freshly painted exterior and celebrating the craftsmanship of the original furniture.
With its versatile proportions and understated country-house appeal, this sideboard would make a beautiful addition to a dining room, living room, hallway or kitchen.

A Piece with a Story
This sideboard has undergone a beautiful transformation from its original honey-coloured finish into something altogether more contemporary.
Rather than covering every surface, the restoration has been carefully considered to celebrate the contrast between the natural oak and the soft, earthy painted finish.
At Flippin’ Sixpence, we believe quality furniture deserves to be treasured rather than replaced. Each piece is individually restored with care and attention to detail, creating furniture with character, history and a new lease of life.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece, ready to take pride of place in its next home.
