This vintage writing bureau is a piece that immediately spoke to me. Despite showing signs of a life well lived, its proportions, craftsmanship and quiet charm made its potential impossible to ignore, and it felt right to give it a thoughtful new chapter.
 
The exterior has been finished in a rich, dark, earthy green with subtle black undertones — a colour that feels grounding and timeless.
 
Inside, the writing area is softened with a light, neutral green-brown, bringing warmth and contrast while keeping the space calm and inviting. A simple border of gold gilding wax has been added to the writing surface as a subtle finishing detail, catching the light without overwhelming the piece.
 
Crafted from solid wood and standing on elegant cabriole legs, this bureau offers a generous writing surface, internal compartments for everyday paperwork, and practical drawer storage below. It’s a piece designed to be used and enjoyed — whether as a home office desk, a bedroom bureau, or a quiet place to sit and write.
